Literacy Games

As part of our literacy time we have begun learning how to play some great games that Mrs Harwood kindly found for us.

On Thursday the Dolphin reading group had a turn at playing a game called "Chunk Stacker"  This involves making words from different tiles which have beginning chunks and end chunks of words on them.

Several times I was called upon to "referee" whether a word created was actually a real word or not, occasionally testing my own knowledge! This game is great for spelling skills and helping the children think about how words are made and sound.

Some of the words created, with some great attempts at spelling.
