Turbo Touch

We are very lucky to currently be having several sessions of Turbo Touch provided by the coaches of Kiwisport.

Last Wednesday Rooms 20 and 21 joined up for our first session.  The coaches put the students through a warm up where they had to run around and then get into groups of a certain number that were randomly called out.  Numbers ranged from one (so anyone who immediately grabbed another student were out!) up to nine - which involved a lot of counting and recounting.

After the warm up the students were split into boys and girls groups and the coaches ran through the pitch set up, explaining the boundaries and scoring zones.  Soon the students were facing off against each other with one student trying to score in the end zone and the other trying to tag them.

After a few goes the students were paired up and then two students had to complete one pass before trying to score.  A few turns later it was a group of students having to complete 2 and 3 passes before scoring.

It was a beautiful day to be outside and the students really enjoyed the games, with many showing a real talent for dodging past their opponents and scoring or defending their zone.

We have three more sessions to complete, one on Wednesday of this week and then a session on each of the following two Thursdays.  I will update you on our future rugby stars then!
